Family gathering....looks like dessert time! Just about
everyone in my
family - both sides can cook SOOOO good. Me, however....sorry, but
I didn't get a lick of good cookin' in my blood. I can hardly boil
water!

John Allen, my uncle Buddy..from Mom's side. He has a gorgeous Bull Terrier dog, named "Zeke".
They make a great team!
Buddy is the best uncle EVER! I love him so much.
Below is a picture of the Allen Family "Homeplace" that's located in
Brink, VA.
It will be torn down so that Iluka can mine minerals from the family's
land.

The Vann Family....from the Allen

Cindy (back row), holding the larger, white dog...is Mom's niece & my 1st cousin.
and Hailey (her grandaughter) is between Cindy and Thurston (Cindy's
husband)...all of them in the back row.
And front row, left...Randy Vann is my 2nd cousin.
His wife, Julia is in pink, and their two children, Hailey (in back row,
center)
and Eli, on Randy's lap.

Barbara Allen Tudor ("Hula Mama"), Mom's sister and Cindy's Mama.
Picture taken in the 1940's?
Cindy's Mama, Barbara Allen Tudor, Mom's sister,
her husband Tom, and their first child, Tony. Cindy came later.
Photo was taken
somewhere in the late 1940's, early 1950's.
Mom (Viola Allen Doehne), Kacie and Dad.
Mom and Dad are Doehne's, and Kacie is a
Holland.
Dad is German, but born in the US.
He speaks pretty darn fluent
German, for not having been
born in Germany!
Mom is from Greensville County, VA.
She and
Dad met in the Federal Building
there, where she
was working as a secretary, and Dad was there working
as a special agent for ATF.
He saw Mom, and the rest is history!

I couldn't decide which one...so I put them both up!
In the top pic, we're laughing, because I can't hold the camera right!
